Maintenance has a purpose

A coating still needs proper washing and periodic inspection.

Ceramic coating reduces how strongly grime bonds and makes safe cleaning easier, but it does not eliminate washing, mineral deposits, road film or environmental contamination. Maintenance restores cleanliness, evaluates water behavior and identifies concerns before they become harder to address.

A temporary loss of beading does not automatically mean the coating has failed. Road film, minerals and residue can mask surface behavior until the finish is properly cleaned and decontaminated.

What maintenance can include

Clean. Inspect. Correct the cause.

The exact work depends on the vehicle, contamination and coating condition. The goal is to preserve the installed protection without unnecessary polishing or aggressive chemicals.

01 · WASH

Coating-safe cleaning

A thorough exterior wash removes loose soil and traffic film with methods selected to minimize wash-induced marring.

02 · DECONTAMINATE

Remove bonded residue

Mineral deposits, iron contamination or other bonded material are addressed only when the finish requires it.

03 · INSPECT

Evaluate performance

Paint, trim, glass and other coated surfaces are checked for contamination, damage and realistic next steps.

At-home care

Simple habits protect the finish between visits.

  • Wash before heavy contamination has time to harden on the surface.
  • Use clean wash media and drying towels reserved for paint.
  • Avoid automatic tunnel washes that use brushes or reused contact material.
  • Remove bird droppings, bug residue and mineral-rich water as soon as practical.
  • Ask before applying waxes, sealants or aggressive cleaners over the coating.

Maintenance FAQ

Common coating-care questions.

Does poor beading mean failure?

Not necessarily. Contamination and residue can suppress water behavior. Proper cleaning and inspection should come before conclusions about failure.

Can a coated vehicle be polished?

Polishing can reduce or remove the coating. It should only be used when correction is actually needed and followed by appropriate re-protection.

Do coatings prevent scratches?

No. Coatings improve gloss, chemical resistance and ease of maintenance, but safe wash technique still matters and rock chips require PPF.

Not sure what the coating needs?

Send clear photos and describe the current behavior, contamination and wash history. We will recommend an appropriate inspection or maintenance step.
