Usually, yes—but there is rarely a reason to. A wax layer sits on top of the ceramic coating rather than strengthening the coating itself. It can temporarily change slickness, gloss and water behavior, and some waxes can mask the coating’s native hydrophobic performance. A compatible coating maintenance product is normally the better choice.
A cured ceramic coating and a traditional wax are different protection systems. Wax applied afterward becomes the uppermost sacrificial layer. Until that wax wears away, some of the water behavior you see may come from the wax rather than the coating underneath.
When a coating seems to have stopped beading, contamination is often the first thing to investigate. Adding wax immediately can hide the surface condition instead of telling you whether the coating simply needs a proper wash and decontamination.
If additional slickness or maintenance protection is desired, use a product known to be compatible with the coating system. The goal is to support the coating without leaving unnecessary residue or creating a maintenance layer that behaves unpredictably.
There is usually no reason to panic. Maintain the vehicle safely and allow the wax layer to wear away naturally unless there is a specific reason to remove it. Avoid aggressive polishing because polishing can reduce or remove the ceramic coating itself.
A normal automotive wax is not automatically expected to damage a cured coating, but compatibility and residue can affect surface behavior.
